I'm saxophonist Bob Bartosik. I provide music for San Diego events-- from solo sax and sax/piano duos on up to a full jazz quintet with bass, drums and trumpet added. I play timeless classic jazz tunes made popular by musicians and composers such as Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Dexter Gordon, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Ben Webster, Stan Getz, Lester Young, Charles Mingus, Thelonius Monk, Duke Ellington, Rodgers and Hart, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Cole Porter, Harold Arlen, George Gerswhin and more.
I run with a circle of talented musicians dedicated to keeping The Great American Songbook" alive. I've played other genres of music and learned that I should stick to what I enjoy and do well. The joy of this music played by wonderful players that love the material shines through each time we play. I feel very fortunate to have found my calling. If you're looking for modern, contemporary smooth jazz I'm not the guy for you.
I have played sax for
35 years and have been playing professionally for 30 years. I'm not a web designer,
obviously.
I also work professionally
mixing audio for TV and film projects, as well as composing original music for
film and multimedia productions.
